Rev Gloria J. Nye The Healing Center

STAY TUNED FOR EXCITING NEW DEVELOPMENTS FOR THE CENTER!

There may be some confusion for those of you who have been reading this site as to the name changes and purpose of the Center.  A very special group of individuals initially came together to create a center by which gifted spiritual teachers, healers, mediums and psychics could teach Reiki and mediumship, as well as, give spirit messages.  However, we have realized that a greater good can take place by offering affordable, non-profit, and in some cases, free, alternative healing support for individuals seeking other treatment options for various mental and physical health disorders other than what is currently being offered.

In a recent newspaper article, the estimated number of soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is numbering in the hundreds of thousands or 3 out of 5 soldiers.  Many of these soldiers are falling into the cracks and are either being misdiagnosed, or ignored causing the incidence of violence and suicide to become and all too frequent headline in the evening news.

As a Navy Vet, I can attest to the fact that military hospitals are overcrowded and cannot handle the demand that is being placed on them by these returning Vets and the increasing financial and physical needs of their families. Something must be done, and it must be done quickly.  We cannot wait for endless congressional debate as to what needs to be done with these brave men and women who have done all they could to support the cause of freedom with their sacrifices.

When a horrific incident takes place in front of a soldier such as watching as a fellow buddy is shot and killed in front of their eyes, or blown to pieces, there is a fragmenting of the soul that takes place.  That piece is locked up in that moment and time only to be accessed when a situation comes up that resembles whatever sound, place, or action as the incident in question.  The soldier relives every bit of that horror.  He/she can do nothing else but be in that moment.  Drugs do not work in this case as it serves only to numb the senses.  PTSD is largely a spiritual disability, and it is difficult to treat it only with the traditional physical remedies now being offered.  However, with Reintegrative Energy Therapy, Reiki, Integrative Energy Therapy, herbal remedies, and even mediumship working in tandum with traditional healing methods can we hope to resolve the trauma.

We have also taken into account the excessively exorbitant drug fees and medical costs that are making it prohibitive for individuals to seek medical intervention without medical insurance.  Last year, I went to the emergency room of a nearby hospital (the Veteran's hospital was closed for the evening) and was treated for a UTI.  I had to pay an upfront cost of $150.00.  It was late at night, I had a history of UTI's and I knew exactly the pills that would help.  I spoke with the oncall physician for about 10 minutes, was given a simple litmus test (costing pennies) which confirmed the UTI, and I was discharged.  My bill cost nearly $1,000. That did not include the cost of medication. I have no medical insurance.

The Healing Center wishes to offer an alternative affordable non-profit healing center that serves the greater need of the community by offering a whole-system mode of healing--mind, body and spirit. First heal the spiritual cause that created the disharmony within the system, treat the physical symptoms with herbal remedies, and/or Naturopathic and Ayurvedic treatments, Reiki; and then use techniques as RET and IET and even shamanic work, so that harmony can prevail within the whole system.

There will also be a Death and Dying aspect to the Center.  Within this sytem, individuals and families are taught how to help their dying loved one release their fears to move on and how to release their own hold on their loved one.  Mediumship can be both taught and offered to help those individuals who are not able to release their deceased loved ones.

We are also drawing up plans to create a beautiful building to house the Center.

We are currently in the process of creating a non-profit for the Center.
